The Foam People is a family-run maker of foam mattresses and toppers based at Royds Mill in Ossett, West Yorkshire, where its head office and factory sit. Launched in 2021, it is a trading name of The Sleep People Limited (Companies House 09094101, incorporated in 2014), and its About page says more than 75 staff make and pack every product in-house.
For a bespoke order, the shopper picks the closest bed shape and foam option online, and the team gets in touch within 1 working day to confirm dimensions. The brand quotes a tolerance of 20mm either way on length and width, and every mattress carries a 1-year warranty. Mattresses arrive vacuum-packed, rolled and boxed, and the brand advises leaving them 24 to 48 hours in a ventilated room to regain full depth.
Delivery is free on every product to UK addresses. Standard items are made and dispatched within 2 to 3 days, bespoke pieces within up to 12 working days of the final plan being agreed, and couriers aim to deliver within 2 working days, giving a 2-hour slot on the day. Old mattresses are not taken away.
Returns must be requested within 30 days of receipt through info@thefoampeople.co.uk, and items must be unused, not slept on and in their original packaging. Return costs fall to the customer, a firmness preference is not accepted as a reason, and custom-sized pieces can only go back if they arrive damaged, faulty or cut to the wrong measurements.
The Foam People was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in Ossett, West Yorkshire. It is part of The Sleep People.
