Thompson And Morgan Crocus Ruby Giant 80 Bulbs Inc:, Purple

Crocus 'Ruby Giant' is a hardy and weather-resistant spring-flowering Crocus that produces large purple flowers from as early as February. The vivid blooms rise above slender, strap-like foliage on sturdy stems, helping them remain upright even in changeable spring weather. These reliable Crocus bulbs are ideal for creating colourful displays in borders, rockeries and containers. They also naturalise readily in grass, making them a great choice for creating informal drifts of early spring colour. The flowers provide a valuable source of nectar for pollinating insects when food can be scarce. 'Ruby Giant' is an easy-to-grow variety that will return year after year when planted in suitable conditions, making it a dependable choice for adding early colour to the garden. How to Grow Grow Crocus 'Ruby Giant' in any well-drained garden soil in full sun or semi shade. Plant spring-flowering Crocus bulbs during autumn in large clumps at a depth of approximately 10cm (4") and space them around 7cm (3") apart. Alternatively, grow the bulbs in containers or naturalise them in grass. After flowering, allow the strap-like foliage to die back naturally. If Crocus are naturalised in grass, avoid mowing the area until the foliage has completely died back. Height: 10cm (4"). Spread: 5cm (2").
