Thompson & Morgan Tulip Gavota 8 Bulbs

Tulip 'Gavota' is a show-stopping variety with rich, velvety maroon petals elegantly edged in golden yellow. A member of the Triumph group, it combines stunning looks with robust performance, flowering reliably in mid to late spring. With blooms that stand up to variable weather, this hardy perennial is a firm favourite for beds, borders, and containers. Its strong stems make it equally valuable as a cut flower, adding flair to indoor arrangements. Unlike many tulips, 'Gavota' is known for its perennial tendencies, especially when planted in well-drained soil and left undisturbed. Recognised with the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, it offers excellent garden value and consistent quality. Plant in a sunny, sheltered position in late summer or autumn. Tulips thrive in moist but well-drained soils—avoid planting in wet conditions. Plant the bulbs 15cm (6") deep and 13cm (5") apart to ensure healthy growth and optimal flowering. After flowering, remove faded blooms and allow foliage to die back naturally before cutting it away. This allows the bulb to store energy for the following season. Tulip bulbs can be irritants to skin and eyes and are harmful if consumed. Handle with gloves where necessary and wash hands after planting.
