Iceland is a British supermarket chain specialising in frozen foods, founded in 1970 by Malcolm Walker in Oswestry, Shropshire. Starting with just £60 investment, Iceland has grown to over 900 UK stores under the Iceland and The Food Warehouse brands. While famous for frozen food (approximately one-third of sales), Iceland now offers a full grocery range including fresh, chilled, and ambient products. The company generated £4.1 billion in revenue in 2025 and invested £80 million in a new Warrington distribution centre.
