1980s Vintage & Serpent Brooch

An exotic addition to any ensemble. 22ct Gold plated entwined serpent brooch. Features black enamel embellishment and round-cut clear Swarovski crystals with red and green eyes. It closes with a safety-catch pin, signed A&S for Attwood and Sawyer. Serpents and snakes represent fertility or a creative life force. Many of their most popular items were interpretations of the Duchess of Windsor's, ( Wallis Simpson ) personal collection given to her by King Edward VIII. Their high quality approach to bold costume jewellery is now very sought after. The brand had a very strong presence across the UK and Europe, and went on to produce the jewellery for the television series "Dallas" and "Dynasty" in the 80`s.
