KURU Footwear is a direct-to-consumer shoe company from Salt Lake City, Utah, founded in 2008 by Bret Rasmussen. It designs men's and women's shoes for people with foot pain around a patented heel-cupping sole, and sells almost entirely online, with a single showroom at its head office. UK shoppers can switch the store to pounds.

KURU says its KURUSOLE footbed is sculpted to hug the heel and absorb shock, and the brand markets its range to people with plantar fasciitis and other foot pain. The business won the 2006 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge, according to the University of Utah's Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, two years before its launch.

Delivery and returns

UK orders cost £10 to ship and take 15 to 20 business days, according to the shipping page. They travel Delivered Duty Paid: duties and taxes are collected at checkout and are not refundable. US shipping is free, most orders leave within 3 business days, and a $24.99 next-business-day service is available for orders placed before 11:30am Eastern.

Shoes can be returned or exchanged within 91 days of delivery, even after being worn. US and Canadian returns are free, but international buyers, UK customers included, pay postage both ways and do not get free exchanges.
