Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL) is an American luxury performance footwear brand founded in 2009 by identical twins Adam and Ryan Goldston while students at USC. The brand made history when the NBA banned their first shoe, the Concept 1, for providing an unfair competitive advantage—the first time the league had ever banned a sneaker for performance reasons.
That legendary NBA ban catapulted APL to fame, and in 2014 they pioneered the 'luxury performance' category, positioning premium athletic footwear at the intersection of high fashion and genuine athletic function. Today, APL is stocked in over 300 luxury retailers including Nordstrom, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Net-A-Porter, and Mr Porter.
The TechLoom technology that defines their sneakers has won multiple awards including the SELF Sneaker Awards and Men's Health Sneaker Awards. With flagship stores at The Grove in LA and SoHo Manhattan, and partnerships with American Airlines, F45, and Williams Racing, APL has become a celebrity and influencer favourite.
