About Peter Millar

Peter Millar was founded in 2001 in Raleigh, North Carolina by Greg Oakley, Chet Sikorski and Chris Knott with a single cashmere sweater. The brand name came from a vintage lawn bowling ball inscription discovered by co-founder Chris Knott. Initially focused on golf apparel, they expanded to include casual and formal menswear using premium materials like cashmere and Pima cotton. Acquired by luxury group Richemont in 2012, Peter Millar remains headquartered in Raleigh.
