About Newlane

Newlane is a British cycling brand, set up in 2018 and based in London, that makes a helmet built to fold flat enough to slip into a bag. Its online shop at wearenewlane.com sells two folding helmet models and a matching backpack, and it ships from a UK warehouse to Britain and the European Union.

What Newlane sells

• Newlane Original, the everyday folding helmet that packs down with a Flip-Clip mechanism
• Newlane Mips, the same folding design with a Mips protection system added
• The Commuter Backpack, shaped to carry a folded Newlane helmet
• Helmet sizes Medium (56 to 60cm head circumference) and Large (61 to 63cm), in several colours

Newlane says its helmets are certified to EN 1078, the European safety standard for bicycle helmets, and that the design has won a Red Dot Design Award. The brand calls the Mips version the only foldable helmet with Mips; trade title BikeBiz reported it as a world first after two years of development with the Swedish safety company. Before riding, the crown is flipped up into position and the rear dial is turned to set the fit.

Delivery and returns

UK standard delivery costs £3.99 and takes 2 to 5 working days, and next-day delivery costs £6.99. Newlane's FAQ says most UK orders arrive 2 days after ordering. Delivery to the EU is charged in euros, from €5.99 for standard shipping to Germany up to €19.99 for next-day shipping to smaller EU markets.

Unused items can go back within 30 days of delivery in their original condition, and helmets must not have been worn outside or show signs of use. Buyers cover return postage unless the item is faulty, and refunds go to the original payment method. Each helmet has a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
