Kama Gear is a UK brand specialising in Kamado grills, outdoor cookware and charcoal. The journey started when founder Christian wanted a ceramic grill but found the price tag steep. He imported 10 off-the-shelf Kamado grills, planning to sell 9 and keep the 10th for free.
In 2019, Christian was hit with an unexpected layoff. With his redundancy payout, he took a massive risk, buying Kamado grills in bulk from his bedroom HQ and garage warehouse. In 2020, the company officially incorporated and launched their first bulk shipment, going on to open their first warehouse in 2021.
In 2022, they doubled down on innovation. While the Kamado grill has been around for 3,000 years, Kama Gear saw a gap for modern design built for real users. Their grills use thick, high-performance ceramic that holds and radiates heat far better than thin steel barbecues, all developed in the UK using real user insight.
