gorman

gorman is an Australian women's fashion label founded in 1999 by Lisa Gorman with the collection Less Than 12 Degrees at the now-defunct fat 52 boutique in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Growing up in Warrnambool, Victoria, Lisa studied nursing before working as a bridal couturier designer. By 2003, the label was stocked in 55 Australian and 15 Japanese retailers, with the first gorman boutique opening in Prahran, Melbourne in 2004. Known as the Queen of Green for using organic fabrics and reducing packaging, gorman became renowned for offbeat prints, strong colour palettes, and groundbreaking artist collaborations. In 2010, Lisa part-sold to fashion conglomerate Factory X, retiring as creative director in 2021 after 22 years.
