Genevieve Sweeney is a British knitwear brand started in 2015 by the designer of the same name. She studied fashion knitwear at Nottingham Trent University and then designed for Hugo Boss, Burberry, Lyle & Scott and Rag & Bone. The studio is at Grandey's Place, a heritage and craft centre near Much Hadham in Hertfordshire, and the web store charges UK shoppers in pounds.
The brand's FAQ says around 40% of the collection is now knitted in its own micro-factory at Grandey's Place, opened in 2025 with a computerised flat-knitting machine and restored vintage Dubied machines. Specialist knitters and mills in the Scottish Borders, Derbyshire, Leicester and Oxfordshire make the rest, and most of the yarn comes from Yorkshire and Scottish woollen mills. The studio also mends its own knitwear, from snags and small holes to worn elbows, although moth damage is excluded.
UK orders over £80 travel free by Royal Mail 48 Tracked. Royal Mail Special Guaranteed costs £7 for next-day delivery on orders placed by 1pm, while DHL Express costs £10 for 1 to 2 working days when ordered by 11am; the express service carries no charge on orders of £200 or more. Monogrammed orders need one extra day. FedEx handles Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and other countries, with duties and taxes settled at checkout.
A return or exchange has to be arranged with the studio within 14 days of receiving the order, and the parcel must arrive back within 14 days of the returns confirmation email. Items go back in their original condition at the customer's expense; socks must be unworn with the label attached, and monogrammed pieces are refunded only when faulty. Refunds are processed within 14 days of the item reaching the studio.
The site keeps an archive section with past-season knitwear for women and men at reduced prices (checked November 2026). A separate category gathers gifts under £50 for both women and men.
Genevieve Sweeney was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire.
