Traditional scratchings are the hard kind: Cool Hog fries rind with the fat still attached, giving a dense bite. Pork crunch is the soft kind, lighter and puffier, made from dried and fried skin with little fat.
Cool Hog's FAQ says its pork scratchings last 4 to 5 months, while its sweets and candy keep for 10 to 12 months. Refill bags are sold for customers who already own a scratchings jar.
