CIGA Design is a Chinese watch brand founded in 2016 by Zhang Jianmin, a distinguished figure in industrial design who was disappointed by the lack of originality he encountered while judging at the Shenzhen Clocks and Watches Fair. The name reflects parent company XIJIA (玺), meaning 'amazing' in Chinese. Since founding, CIGA Design has won 17 international awards including nine Red Dot Design Awards, two iF Design Awards, three German Design Awards, and the Challenge Watch Prize at the 2021 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) for their Series U Blue Planet. Their collaboration with Xiaomi set records for mechanical watch sales, and they partner with Seagull for movement development.
