Canyon is a German bicycle brand that sells straight to riders instead of through shops. Roman Arnold and his brother Franc set the company up in Koblenz in 1985 as Radsport Arnold; the first machines under the Canyon name appeared in 1996, and the firm became Canyon Bicycles GmbH in 2001. Wikipedia notes that frames are designed in-house, built in Asia, then assembled and tested in Koblenz.
The brand's warranty page describes a 2-year warranty running alongside a 6-year guarantee on in-house engineered parts such as frames and forks, with rebuild, shipping and customs costs paid on successful warranty claims. Buyers can also pick Collect & Ride, which sends the order to a local partner workshop to be built before pick-up.
Sending a bike or frameset to a UK address costs £79.99 and an e-bike £99.99, while gear-only orders cost £9.99 and nothing above £150. The quoted window is 3 to 10 working days with UPS, and each frame travels in a protective Bike Guard box, ready for final assembly at home.
Unused items can be sent back within 30 days of receipt, with a prepaid return label for anything worth £39 or more; cheaper items go back at the customer's expense. Returns start from the MyAccount area, direct exchanges are not possible (return and reorder instead), and processing of the refund takes 2 to 5 working days. Anything that arrives damaged goes through the warranty form rather than the returns process.
Canyon was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Koblenz, Germany.
