BAR Jewellery was launched in September 2016 by Sophie McKay, a former ready-to-wear Burberry designer who also worked at Tom Ford and Versace. The name "BAR" stands for "Born from Ambition to create Responsibly." The London-based brand is committed to keeping environmental impact to a minimum.
The jewellery is made locally in the UK and an ethical workshop in Bali, using recycled silver and gold. Inspired by vintage pieces, architecture, and contemporary art, the collection features pared-back, minimal designs with modernist sculptural shapes. The collection is shaped by the raw beauty of the English and Scottish countryside.
