Tomato ‘Sungold’ is a class leader, awarded an RHS AGM in recognition of its extraordinary sweet flavour and high sugar content. The orange, cherry-sized fruits are thin skinned and juicy – just perfect for lunch boxes, salads or a tasty snack picked straight from the plant. As you would expect from an F1 hybrid variety, Tomato ‘Sungold’ is vigorous and heavy cropping, producing good yields of bite-sized fruits from July to October. With good disease resistance to tobacco mosaic virus and fusarium wilt, you can be certain of a good crop, whether you grow it in the greenhouse or out in the garden. Tomatoes are easy to grow from seed. Sow indoors from February to April. Grow them on until they are large enough to plant in the greenhouse or outdoors in fertile, well drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position. Provide a cane beside each plant for support as it grows.
