Thompson & Morgan Salix ‘Hakuro-Nishiki’ is the ultimate showy willow. This Dwarf Japanese Willow is sometimes known as the Flamingo Tree, and already a popular small tree up and down the UK. The leaves are an explosion of colour, with marbling in pink, green and white, and when they fall in autumn, the stems continue the show, with glowing orange tones! The Flamingo Tree is the perfect tree for small gardens, and makes superb spring colour. Grow Salix in a sunny or partially shaded position, in any well-drained soil. To achieve the most colourful foliage, trim back all side branches by a third during July. You can trim Salix Hakuro-Nishiki plants through the year to keep them tidy, with fresh variegated growth. Simply prune back branch tips by about 15cm (6”). Please note: Standard Salix plants will be supplied as a bushy head on a clear stem.
