Globe Thistle is a brilliant border perennial, whose spherical heads of electric-blue blooms are held on slender stems over silvery, thistle-like foliage. Always buzzing with bees, Echinops ritro subsp. ruthenicus is hardy and drought tolerant once established - a reliable choice for hot, sunny herbaceous borders. The flowers make marvellous cut flowers, which can be dried for everlasting displays. The Kew Pollinators range of seeds from Thompson and Morgan has been specially created alongside the experts at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew to attract and support a wide range of pollinators, including bees, butterflies and beetles, as well as a number of other important pollinating insects.
