A very early and free flowering biennial, you can enjoy masses of rich indigo blue blooms from April to June. Perfect for adding colour and grace to spring planting schemes, ideal for borders and containers. Sow in late spring to early summer outdoors in a well prepared seed bed. Sow the seeds thinly 3mm (1/8in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Keep the soil damp until germination takes place and thin out the seedlings to 15cm (6in) apart. Transplant 23cm (9in) apart into their flowering site in the autumn for flowering the following spring. They will grow in most sites and soils and are happy in sun or part shade.
