It likes to be planted up in a sunny position, in moist well-drained soil. To get the best out of your Dahlia, you need to mix well-rotted manure or compost in the planting hole. Plant the tuber to a depth of 15cm and water well until established. Alternatively, you can grow indoors in a pot of compost in a frost-free greenhouse, and then transfer outside.
