Narcissus 'Cheerfulness' is an RHS Award of Garden Merit daffodil that produces highly fragrant clusters of blooms on slender, sturdy stems. The creamy-white petals surround delicate double centres in yellow and white, creating a charming spring display. This reliable daffodil is ideal for adding colour and fragrance to spring borders and containers. The beautifully scented flowers also make excellent cut flowers for bringing a touch of spring indoors. Plant in groups or drifts for the best effect. How to Grow Plant Narcissus 'Cheerfulness' bulbs in any moist, well-drained soil in full sun or semi shade. Plant the bulbs approximately 10cm (4") deep and 10cm (4") apart. Daffodils look particularly effective when planted in groups or natural-looking drifts through borders and informal areas of grass. For a natural display, scatter the bulbs across the planting area and plant them where they land. For an indoor display, plant the bulbs in containers of bulb fibre and place them in a cool, dark and well-ventilated position at a maximum temperature of 10°C (50°F). Water sparingly to keep the compost moist. When the shoots reach approximately 10cm (4") tall, move the containers to a cool, bright position indoors at around 16°C (60°F). Height: 40cm (16").
