Hardy, evergreen and upright, this shrub makes a wonderful specimen plant, perfect for creating a focal point in the garden. It requires minimal maintenance, giving you easy year round interest. Plant Mexican Orange Blossom in any well drained soil in full sun or partial shade, with shelter from strong winds. Alternatively grow Choisya in patio containers filled with loam-based compost such as John Innes No.3. Water regularly throughout the growing season until Choisya plants are well established. Mexican Orange Blossom requires little attention, but benefits from a trim each year to keep it neat and tidy. After flowering, trim or lightly cut back shoots to a healthy pair of buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant in spring.
