The wide, upright-shape flowers of Anemone coronaria 'Mr Fokker' rise above attractive clumps of ferny foliage. Producing violet-blue flowers to add a bright splash of colour in spring. Like other Anemone coronaria varieties, it makes a beautiful fresh cut flower for a vase indoors. Flowering year after year on free draining soils, this ‘easy to grow’ bulb is perfect for dotting through the front of sunny borders. How to grow Prior to planting, anemone bulbs should be soaked in water overnight. Choose a position in full sun on light sandy, well drained soil, and plant them in groups at a depth of 5cm (2") deep. More info Anemone bulbs require a dry, dormant period in summer when the foliage begins to die back after flowering in early summer. Do not water them during this period. In autumn, apply a dry mulch of leaf mould or chipped bark to protect the bulbs from winter wet. Caution: The sap of Anemone coronaria is an irritant to the skin and eyes and harmful if eaten.
