Sweet Pea ‘Scentsational Mix’ is a hardy annual that delivers stunning colour and strong fragrance, perfect for summer gardens and cut flower displays. This versatile mix offers bold blooms in a wide colour range, including deep blue, burgundy and soft pink. With sturdy stems and heat-tolerant flowers, this sweet pea variety is both beautiful and practical. Ideal for trellis, fences or free-standing supports, ‘Scentsational Mix’ can reach heights of 180cm (71in), adding vertical interest and scent to the garden. Strong stems make it excellent for cutting, and regular picking prolongs the display through the season. Sow seeds indoors in October or January for transplanting, or direct sow outdoors from March to April. Indoors: sow 3 seeds per 7. 5cm (3") pot, 1cm (½") deep in free-draining compost at 20-25°C (68–77°F). Germination takes 10–21 days. Grow on in cooler conditions and transfer to a cold frame. Outdoors: sow directly in drills 2. 5cm (1") deep, spaced 7. 5cm (3") apart. Pinch out stems after second leaf set to encourage branching. Plant out in full sun, spacing 23cm (9") apart in well-drained soil. Provide climbing support. Water and feed regularly, and deadhead frequently to extend blooming.
