Sunflower ‘Beaches Mix’ is a hardy annual ideal for coastal and challenging gardens. Producing numerous small yellow flowers with dark centres over a long season, these sunflowers are perfect for wildlife gardens or as cut flowers. The bushy, fast-growing plants spread by runners and have flexible stems that withstand wind and exposed sites. Growing Instructions Direct sow outdoors from April to May in full sun on well-drained soil. Sow thinly at 1cm depth in drills 45cm apart, covering seed lightly. Water regularly. Germination takes up to 21 days. Thin seedlings to 30cm apart once large enough to handle. Alternatively, sow indoors in 7. 5cm pots from March to April at 20–25°C. Harden off before planting outside. Feed and water regularly, and stake stems with tall canes to prevent wind damage.
