Chilli Pepper 'Scotch Bonnet Red' is not for the faint hearted!This Habanero type delivers atomic levels of heat, rated at an eye-watering 400,000 SHU on the Scoville scale. With a fruity yet volcanic flavour, the 6cm long chillies ripen from lime green through orange to deep red, with a characteristic wrinkled finish. Early to crop and high-yielding, this is a top performer for home growers looking for serious spice. Grow in a greenhouse or a hot, sheltered garden spot. Ideal for adding explosive heat to your favourite dishes, fresh or dried. Plants reach up to 90cm (36") in height with a 45cm (18") spread. Growing advice:Sow seeds on moist, well-drained compost and lightly cover. Keep at 18–20°C with light for germination. Transplant to 7. 5cm pots once large enough, then grow on in containers, grow bags, or borders after the last frost. Gradually acclimatise outdoor plants.
