Dinner Friends Oil & Acrylic Painting

“Dinner with Friends” is an original painted with oil and acrylic on canvas sheet, professionally mounted within a dark wood frame with a subtle golden inner rim, ready to hang. The frame is included as part of the finished artwork, carefully chosen to deepen the rich tones of the painting and enhance its warmth. From the Artist: This painting is part of the Brighter Days Are Coming series, launching in partnership with Glassette, and captures the joy of being with friends and sharing food around a busy table. Inspired by evenings spent meeting after work, the scene centres on Chinese dishes set against a deep green backdrop and a rich red tablecloth, allowing the small details to glow and stand out I love this piece because of the sense of movement. Different hands reaching out, cards shuffle, conversations overlap and the table feels full of energy, as though everyone is mid story, mid laughter, mid eating. The busyness reflects the warmth and liveliness of gathering together. For me, this painting is symbolic of that feeling that better days really are coming. The moment after work when you are getting ready to meet friends at a local restaurant or in the city on a Thursday or Friday carries a different kind of excitement. There is freedom in it, anticipation, the joy of catching up and exchanging stories all together. In those evenings, there is not a care in the world, only connection. Only lightness. Through my bold colour and big brushwork, the piece celebrates togetherness, shared meals and the simple happiness found in sitting around a table with people you love.
