Cobalt Spot Weld Drill

The Sealey Cobalt Spot Weld Drill is a specialist HSS drill bit designed for removing spot welds from vehicle body panels during automotive repair and restoration work. This 8mm diameter drill is specifically engineered to drill out spot welds on most common vehicle panels, including modern galvanized steel and high stress steel constructions. Manufactured from high-speed steel with 5% cobalt content, this spot weld drill offers enhanced durability and extended service life compared to standard HSS drill bits. The cobalt addition provides superior heat resistance and hardness, allowing the drill to maintain its cutting edge even when working with tough modern automotive steels. At 80mm in length, this drill provides adequate reach for typical spot weld removal applications whilst maintaining good control during precision drilling operations. The compact size makes it ideal for panel repair work where access may be restricted, such as door skins, quarter panels, and sill sections.

Features and Benefits:

• 5% cobalt content for longer working life and improved heat resistance
