Roughneck Drain Spade

The Roughneck Drain Spade is a specialist digging tool designed for creating deep, narrow trenches and post holes. With its sharpened 110mm blade, this drainage spade cuts efficiently through compacted ground, clay and root-laden soil, making it ideal for laying drains, pipe and cable channels, as well as installing fence posts and signage. Built from heavy-duty carbon steel with a corrosion-resistant tumble lacquered finish, this drainage shovel delivers professional durability for demanding groundwork applications. The blade features integrated treads that allow increased downward pressure to be applied whilst reducing foot slippage during use. A Power Ring socket with steel reinforced plug provides enhanced blade-to-handle connection strength for reliable performance on tough excavation tasks. The tubular fibreglass shaft offers an excellent balance of strength and reduced weight compared to traditional wooden handles. Finished with a soft-grip D-shaped handle, the spade provides comfortable control during extended digging sessions, reducing hand fatigue for contractors and groundworkers tackling drainage installations or fencing projects.
