3 x Showstopper Perennial Autumn Bedding 9cm

The bold blooms of this upright and robust primula command attention in spring gardens with their plentiful white flowers with dramatic dark yellow centres. This evergreen perennial forms neat rosettes of dark green, oval leaves. Living up to its name, Primula 'Showstopper White' provides a blousy, theatrical floral display that pairs perfectly with spring bulbs. Tough and weather resistant, these primroses thrive in borders or containers, lightly scenting the air and promising a hardy yet glamorous spring spectacle. For use as winter/spring bedding plants, plant primulas into fresh, free-draining compost and position pots and baskets in a bright, sheltered spot, avoiding harsh midday sun. Water well after planting, keep the compost just moist through winter, remove faded flowers regularly, and protect containers from prolonged hard frost to keep plants tidy and flowering well. Alternatively, plant out in a partially shaded and sheltered position, adding position, adding plenty of leaf mould and compost to the planting hole and backfill. Water well until established. Divide large clumps in late spring or early summer after the plant has flowered, preferably during a wet spell. Position: Light shade Soil: Moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, or peat-free general purpose compost Rate of growth: Fast-growing Flowering period: February to April Hardiness: Fully hardy | Primrose 3 x Showstopper White Perennial Autumn Bedding 9cm
