Treaded Stainless Steel Border Spade

The Kew Gardens Treaded Stainless Steel Border Spade is a premium gardening tool combining professional horticultural expertise with traditional British manufacturing quality. Produced by Spear & Jackson in collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, this border spade represents a partnership between one of Britain's oldest tool manufacturers and the practical knowledge of Kew's expert horticultural team. This border spade features a compact mirror-polished stainless steel head that resists rust and cleans effortlessly after use. The smaller head size makes it particularly well-suited for working in confined spaces, turning over soil in established borders, and precision digging around existing plants. The double-width treads provide enhanced comfort during extended digging sessions, reducing foot fatigue and improving control. The construction incorporates an extra-long socket with double riveting for superior strength and durability. The 760mm handle length reduces the need for excessive bending, helping to minimise back strain during prolonged use. The FSC-certified weatherproofed ash handle combines traditional aesthetics with practical durability, ensuring the tool withstands regular use in varying weather conditions throughout the gardening season.
