A real treat! Robins, blackbirds and many tits alike love these high calorie, high protein snacks. To really add a level of bird feeding opulence to proceedings, soak them in water overnight and rehydrate them before you put them out on the bird feeding table. When breeding season comes around, there are extra beaks to feed, and those new arrivals would have traditionally fed on creepy crawlies like caterpillars. However as we’ve built and built, and destroyed many natural habitats, the supply of said invertebrates has decreased. So by offering these dried mealworms, you’re not only giving the adult birds the energy they need, but you could also be giving a tiny bird somewhere their very first taste of grub.
