The Rubber Plant, also known as Ficus Elastica is a species of plant in the Fig Genus. It has broad shiny oval leaves which are glossy and leathery looking. The plant has a variety of colours of dark green, light green and a distinctive marking of cream splotched leaves. It is a popular ornamental houseplant and gives the look of a small tree indoors. The Rubber Plant looks stunning next to a fireplace, television area and near door entrances. Unlike the real plant, this will never drop leaves or fade in colour making it perfect if you don't want the hassle or have the time to care for living plants.
