What is Gaviscon Advance Aniseed Suspension? Gaviscon Advance Aniseed Suspension is a reflux suppressant that provides extra strength relief from acid reflux symptoms, heartburn and indigestion. It forms a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to help prevent reflux and keep stomach acid away from the lining of the food pipe. It can also help relieve symptoms associated with hiatus hernia, reflux oesophagitis, sore throat, hoarseness, cough linked to reflux, and heartburn that may occur during or after treatment with acid-reducing medicines such as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) or H2 antagonists. High in Sodium - see leaflet for further information" Ingredients Usage How to use Gaviscon Advance Aniseed Suspension Shake well before use and check that the cap seal is unbroken before first use. Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Take 10–20 ml (two to four 5 ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times daily. Children under 12 years should only take this medicine on medical advice. If symptoms persist after 7 days, consult your doctor. Usage Warnings Precautions to consider before using Gaviscon Advance Aniseed Suspension Do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Wait at least 2 hours between taking this medicine and other oral medicines such as certain antibiotics, iron supplements, thyroid hormones and bisphosphonates. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before prolonged use, especially if you have kidney or heart disease, reduced kidney function, are on a low sodium or potassium diet, have liver or kidney disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Stop taking the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, dizziness or difficulty breathing.
