Galliprant is a piprant - a first in class prostaglandin receptor antagonist (PRA) that does not inhibit the COX enzymes. It specifically targets the EP4 receptor, the primary mediator of canine (OA) pain. As a result of its novel mode of action, Galliprant provides OA pain relief that is comparable to that of traditional NSAIDs while reducing the impact on GI, kidney and liver homeostasis.
