Inspired by a line from Baudelaire's poem "Invitation to a Voyage," it is a journey through places of pleasure. In this poem, Baudelaire invites his lover to join him in an exotic place. dove may live in calm and peace, within the context of his decadent aesthetic. Luxe Calme Volupté is also the name of a beautiful painting by Henri Matisse that conveys the same ideas that inspired my perfume: the juxtaposition of a calm and peaceful character on the one hand, and sensual and decadent elements on the other.
