The Festool EXO 18 ExoActive Exoskeleton is a battery-powered wearable support system designed to reduce physical strain during overhead and chest-height work tasks. Worn like a rucksack and adjustable to individual height, the ExoActive actively assists arm movement using an 18V battery-powered drive system, delivering up to 50 N (5 kg) of support force per arm. This makes it particularly well suited to tradespeople carrying out prolonged overhead activities such as dry mortarless construction, painting, wallpapering, and installation work on walls and ceilings. The system gives users control over the level of assistance, with three selectable working areas and five support levels adjustable in seconds via Bluetooth. By reducing muscular fatigue, the ExoActive helps tradespeople maintain focus and sustain quality of work over longer periods — a genuine benefit on physically demanding sites. The close-fitting design preserves a natural range of movement, while the textile and harness components are replaceable via a straightforward changing system.
