Assorted Hammer Wedges

The Faithfull Assorted Hammer Wedges provide a comprehensive solution for securing replacement wooden handles on hammers, axes and other striking tools. This versatile kit contains both malleable steel and wooden wedges designed to create a safe, secure attachment between the tool head and handle. The assortment includes four size options to accommodate different tool weights and applications. Each size combines steel wedges with wooden wedges for optimal fitting security. Size 1 (12mm steel, 17 x 25mm wooden) suits lighter tools from 4oz to 1lb, whilst Size 2 (15mm steel, 25 x 35mm wooden) handles 1lb to 2.5lb heads. For heavier applications, Size 3 (18mm steel, 30 x 30mm wooden) accommodates 3lb to 7lb tool heads, and Size 4 (21mm steel, 30 x 40mm wooden) is suitable for substantial tools weighing 10lb to 28lbs. This range makes the kit ideal for professional tradespeople and contractors who maintain multiple striking tools, from finishing hammers through to heavy sledgehammers. When fitted correctly, these wedges expand the wooden handle within the tool head socket, creating a firm mechanical bond that withstands regular striking forces. The combination of malleable steel and wooden wedges provides the optimal balance between initial compression and long-term stability.
