SQUHT82 500 4 3 Qube High Temperature Centrifugal Box Fan Three Phase AC 500mm

The Elta Qube SQUHT82/500-4-3 is a high temperature centrifugal box fan with a 500mm backward curved impeller in a 820mm cube casing, rated by Elta for operating temperatures up to +120°C in the duct. It moves up to 8978 m³/h at free air and 6145 m³/h at 500 Pa, the highest pressure in Elta's performance table for this model.The three phase IP55 TEFC motor (380-415V, 4 pole, 1465 rpm) runs at fixed speed direct on line or variable speed from an inverter. The motor sits out of the air stream, so heat, grease and contaminants in the extract do not reach it. The impeller is EN-AW 5754 aluminium, non-overloading and balanced to G6.3, inside an extruded aluminium frame with 25mm double skinned, mineral wool filled panels that can be moved to give a 90° or straight through airflow. Elta give a 12 month warranty. 3 Phase AC Motor Up to 8978 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forHot, greasy or contaminated extract inside the building where the fan sits in the duct run, typically above a ceiling or in a plant room: a large commercial or college kitchen, a factory process line or a busy bakery. Elta list kitchens, restaurants, schools, colleges, shops, shower rooms and factories as typical uses. It moves 8978 m³/h free air and 7834 m³/h against 200 Pa, which is enough for a canopy, grease filters and a reasonable duct run.It is not a smoke extract fan. The +120°C figure is a continuous in-duct running rating, and Elta's datasheet gives no smoke or fire temperature/time rating, so use a certified smoke fan where the design calls for one. It is also not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. If the air stays below 50°C, the standard Qube SQU range covers the same box sizes without the high temperature build.Why choose this over alternativesThe AC Qube suits a plant room or riser where a simple three phase fan is wanted: it can run fixed speed direct on line, or from Elta's 149-VFD-00-00-0019 inverter when the duty needs trimming. Elta's data show 58.0% overall efficiency at the best efficiency point for this model. If you want built in speed control instead, the Elta SQUHT82/500-EC-3 is the EC equivalent.For less air, the Elta SQUHT67/450-4-3 gives 6228 m³/h free air. For more, the Elta SQUHT82/560-4-3 gives 11974 m³/h. If the air will stay below 50°C, the Elta SQU82/500-4-3 is the standard temperature version with the same box and impeller size.Installation notes The fan can be mounted at any angle. It arrives set up for 90° airflow; move the panels to make it straight through if your duct runs in line. Make sure it is adequately supported, as it weighs 108 kg. Leave access to the panels: they are fixed with multi thread U nuts and lift off for cleaning and maintenance. Elta recommend an inspection at least every 12 months. Wire to Elta diagram 152-611 (star connection) with a means of isolation. Connect the motor thermal cut-out into the starter control circuit and use a starter or inverter with overload protection, as fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection. Check impeller rotation at first start. Air still comes out of the right side when the impeller turns backwards, but airflow drops and current rises, which harms the motor. Elta warn that the bulkhead and frame can get hot when the fan is handling air at higher temperatures, so keep it clear of anything that could be damaged by heat and guard against contact.
