SQU50 350 4 3 Qube Centrifugal Box Fan Three Phase AC 350mm

The Elta Qube SQU50/350-4-3 is a centrifugal box fan with a 350mm backward curved impeller in a 500mm cube casing, for supply or extract air up to +50°C. It moves up to 2754 m³/h at free air and 1282 m³/h at 300 Pa, the highest pressure in Elta's performance table for this model.The three phase IP55 TEFC motor (380-415V, 4 pole, 1440 rpm) runs at fixed speed direct on line or variable speed from an inverter. The impeller is EN-AW 5754 aluminium, non-overloading and balanced to G6.3, inside an extruded aluminium frame with 25mm double skinned, mineral wool filled panels that can be moved to give a 90° or straight through airflow. Elta give a 24 month warranty. 3 Phase AC Motor Up to 2754 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forGeneral supply or extract on a ducted system: a group of classrooms, shower and changing rooms, a small shop or a workshop. Elta list kitchens, schools, colleges, shops, sports halls, factories, industrial units and warehousing among typical uses. It moves 2754 m³/h free air and about 1955 m³/h against 200 Pa; at that 200 Pa figure it gives roughly 10 air changes an hour in a space of about 200 m³.It is the wrong fan for hot extract: the Qube SQU is for an airstream up to +50°C, and Elta state it is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. For hot or grease laden kitchen canopy extract, choose a Qube SQUHT high temperature box fan, which keeps the motor out of the air stream and is rated to +120°C in the duct.Why choose this over alternativesThe AC Qube suits a plant room or riser where a simple three phase fan is wanted: it can run fixed speed direct on line, or from Elta's 149-VFD-00-00-0016 inverter when the duty needs trimming. Elta's data show 35.3% overall efficiency at the best efficiency point for this model. If you want built in speed control instead, the Elta SQU50/350-EC-1 is the EC equivalent.For more, the Elta SQU67/400-4-3 gives 4140 m³/h.Installation notes The fan can be mounted at any angle. It arrives set up for 90° airflow; move the panels to make it straight through if your duct runs in line. Make sure it is adequately supported, as it weighs 35 kg. Leave access to the panels: they are fixed with multi thread U nuts and lift off for cleaning and maintenance. Elta recommend an inspection at least every 12 months. Wire to Elta diagram 152-611 (star connection) with a means of isolation. Connect the motor thermal cut-out into the starter control circuit and use a starter or inverter with overload protection, as fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection. Check impeller rotation at first start. Air still comes out of the right side when the impeller turns backwards, but airflow drops and current rises, which harms the motor. Elta rate the Qube for ambient temperatures of -20°C to +50°C and up to 95% relative humidity. Site the discharge so it cannot pull flue gases back from any open flued appliance.
