The Elta SPA350/4-1EC is a 350mm Raptor plate mounted axial fan with a single phase EC motor, moving up to 4489 m³/h at full speed and working against static pressures up to 100 Pa. Speed is fully variable, so the fan can be set to match the room.The EC external rotor motor has an integrated variable speed drive, runs on 220-277V single phase 50/60Hz and reaches 1952 rpm at 10V, drawing 429 W and 2.00 A. Speed is set by a 0-10V signal or the 149-POT-10-MI potentiometer. The Ziehl-Abegg FE2owlet aerofoil impeller has serrated trailing edges and winglets, the motor is weatherproofed to IP44 with an IP55 terminal box, it handles air up to +70°C, and Elta give a 12 month warranty. 1 Phase EC Motor Up to 4489 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forSingle phase sites that need variable or BMS controlled through-wall ventilation in workshops, school halls, commercial kitchens with little or no ducting, vehicle garages and small industrial units. At 4489 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a space of roughly 760 m³, for example 19m x 10m with a 4m ceiling. Turned down to 8V it still moves 3586 m³/h at 52 dB(A).It is a low pressure fan with airflow shown up to 100 Pa, so it is not for ducting or heavy louvres; use a cased axial or inline mixed flow fan there. The motor is IP44, so on an exposed external wall fit a wall cowl or louvre shutter. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.Why choose this over alternativesAgainst the AC Elta SPA350/4-1AC (2772 m³/h, up to 50 Pa, 120 W, 40 dB(A)), this EC version gives stepless 0-10V control without a separate transformer or electronic controller. The Compact Elta SCP350-1EC is the other single phase EC option at this size (2722 m³/h, up to 100 Pa, 177 W, 56 dB(A)). At lower speeds EC power falls sharply, which is where it saves running cost over a fixed speed AC fan.Installation notes Mount the 485 x 485mm fan plate securely at any angle using the four 9mm holes on 435mm centres, and leave access for future maintenance. Supply is 220-277V single phase 50/60Hz. Wire to Elta diagram 152-00298951 through the IP55 terminal box. The motor has a 10V output and a 0-10V input, so speed is set by the 149-POT-10-MI potentiometer or a 0-10V signal from a BMS. Disconnect the EC fan before any insulation resistance testing on the circuit. Elta warn that testing with it connected can damage the electronics and is not covered by warranty. The EC motor has internal electronic overload protection and may restart on its own after a fault clears, so isolate the supply before maintenance. At first start check rotation and airflow direction. Inspect and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.
