Description

The Elta SLCX630/4-3AC is a 630mm ATEX rated long cased axial fan from the Elta Revolution SLCX range, built for duct mounting in hazardous areas. It moves up to 19440 m³/h at free air and still delivers 13446 m³/h at 250 Pa, driven by a 3.0 kW 4 pole three phase motor running at 1410 rpm.Elta mark the SLCX to Ex h IIB+H2 T4 Gb, classified for constructional safety under the 2014/34/EU directive. The casing is heavy gauge sheet steel, roll formed, welded and dip galvanised after fabrication, and the adjustable pitch aerofoil impeller has carbon filled anti-static blades on a die cast aluminium hub. It is fixed speed, direct on line, and Elta give a 12 month warranty. 3 Phase AC Motor Up to 19440 m³/h Fixed Speed What it is best used forLarge volume extract or supply for big hazardous areas: sewage treatment process buildings, chemical stores and plant rooms, and large battery charging areas. It moves 19440 m³/h free air, 17496 m³/h at 100 Pa and 13446 m³/h at 250 Pa.At 64 kg and 715mm across the flange, it needs proper structural support and access. For pressures above 250 Pa, look at the Elta SLCX710/4-3AC (300 Pa) or the 2 pole 500mm fans (500 Pa). It is not suitable for Zone 0, and the marking is for gas atmospheres only, so ask us before specifying it for a combustible dust zone. Zone classification is the responsibility of the installer or site duty holder: check the Ex h IIB+H2 T4 Gb marking against your hazardous area classification before ordering. Why choose this over alternativesChoose the SLCX only where the area is classified as hazardous. Its Ex h IIB+H2 T4 Gb marking, anti-static impeller blades and ATEX build are what you are paying for; the standard Elta SLC630/4A-3AC is the non-ATEX version of a similar size for ordinary ventilation and costs considerably less, but must never be used in a zoned area.It moves about 45% more air than the Elta SLCX560/4-3AC at free air and reaches 250 Pa. The Elta SLCX710/4-3AC uses the same 3 kW motor and speed with a larger impeller for more volume.Installation notes Electrical installation must comply with BS7671 and EN60079-0 and be carried out by competent persons. Provide a means of electrical isolation in the fixed wiring and wire to diagram 152-612 through the M20 cable entry, with the M6 earth stud bonded. The fan can be mounted at any angle. Seal all flanges with an oil and diesel resistant silicone sealant, and fix to the 715mm flange using the 12 holes of 12mm diameter on a 690mm PCD. Elta state the zone inside and outside the fan can differ by no more than one zone (for example Zone 1 inside, Zone 2 outside), except when fitted with a flexible duct connection, where there is no zone separation. It is not suitable for Zone 0. It is fixed speed, direct on line. Elta must be consulted before any speed controller or inverter is used, and the controller in the ancillary pack is not ATEX rated and must be mounted outside the hazardous area. At start up check rotation, airflow direction and that motor current does not exceed the nameplate. Inspect AV mounts and earth bonding every 6 months, and check impeller tip clearance every 26,000 hours or 3 years. You'll also need Elta matching flanges 630mm (061B-0630) sold each, one per duct connection Elta ancillary pack APK630/003 available to order, ask us. Its controller is not ATEX rated and must be mounted outside the hazardous area. Elta AV mounts 062-003 available to order, ask us Elta impeller side guard 078C-0630-C available to order, ask us. Guarding is not included with the fan.
