SLC500 2A 3AC Revolution Long Cased Axial Fan Three Phase AC 500mm

The Elta SLC500/2A-3AC is a 500mm Revolution long cased axial fan and the smaller of the two high pressure two pole 500mm models. It moves up to 14580 m³/h at free air and 11894 m³/h against 500 Pa, from a 2 pole three phase AC motor running at 2920 rpm.The casing is heavy gauge steel, hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and suitable for external mounting, with a die cast aluminium aerofoil impeller. The motor is IP55 with sealed for life bearings, wired to an IP55 terminal box on the outside of the case. The IE2 motor is designed for use with a frequency inverter. Elta give a 12 month warranty. 3 Phase AC Motor Up to 14580 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forLarge ducted extract and supply systems that need serious pressure: factory and process extract, warehouse ventilation with long duct runs, kitchen canopy systems serving several canopies, and air handling or cooling duties. It holds 11894 m³/h at 500 Pa from 14580 m³/h at free air.At 72 kg and 70 dB(A) at 3m it needs solid support and usually attenuation. It is a three phase only fan, and Elta list no single phase input inverter for it, so it is the wrong choice for a site without a three phase supply.Why choose this over alternativesThe Elta SLC500/2B-3AC is the bigger motor version in the same casing, adding about 11% more airflow (16229 m³/h free air) for 5.192 kW instead of 3.937 kW. Pick the 2A when its curve covers your duty point, as it costs less to run.If the system pressure is under 150 Pa, the four pole Elta SLC500/4A-3AC or Elta SLC500/4B-3AC will be much quieter and use a fraction of the power.Installation notes Mount at any angle, horizontally in a duct run or vertically, but make sure the fan is adequately supported: it weighs 72 kg. AV mounts and mounting feet are available from Elta. The flanges are 585mm outside diameter with 12 holes of 12mm on a 560mm PCD. Use Elta matching flanges and flexible connectors to join it to ductwork. Fit a local isolator, and protect the motor with a starter or controller that has overload protection; fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection. Do not use the isolator for day to day on and off control. Wire to diagram 152-601 (delta connected, 380-415V three phase). Check rotation and airflow direction at first start and that the running current does not exceed the nameplate. Not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. Inspect and clean the impeller, motor and guards at least every 12 months.
