SLC450 2A 3AC Revolution Long Cased Axial Fan Three Phase AC 450mm

The Elta SLC450/2A-3AC is a 450mm Revolution long cased axial fan and the two pole, high pressure choice at 450mm. It moves up to 9929 m³/h at free air and 7618 m³/h against 500 Pa, from a 2 pole three phase AC motor running at 2895 rpm.The casing is heavy gauge steel, hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and suitable for external mounting, with a die cast aluminium aerofoil impeller. The motor is IP55 with sealed for life bearings, wired to an IP55 terminal box on the outside of the case. The IE2 motor is designed for use with a frequency inverter. Elta give a 12 month warranty. 3 Phase AC Motor Up to 9929 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forDucted systems with real resistance in them: long extract runs, kitchen canopy extract with grease filters, process and fume extract in factories, and supply systems with filters and heater batteries. The curve is very flat, so it still moves 7618 m³/h at 500 Pa, only about 23% below its free-air 9929 m³/h.It is loud at 73 dB(A) at 3m, so plan on attenuators where it serves occupied rooms. For a short duct run or a wall mounted job below 150 Pa, a four pole fan is quieter and cheaper to run.Why choose this over alternativesThe four pole Elta SLC450/4-3AC uses 0.491 kW and is far quieter at 56 dB(A), but its table stops at 150 Pa. Choose the SLC450/2A-3AC when the system pressure is above that, or when you need headroom to throttle back on an inverter.Need more air at the same pressure? On a single phase supply, the Elta SLC450/2-1AC has a similar curve but draws 8.8 A.Installation notes Mount at any angle, horizontally in a duct run or vertically, but make sure the fan is adequately supported: it weighs 33 kg. AV mounts and mounting feet are available from Elta. The flanges are 530mm outside diameter with 8 holes of 12mm on a 500mm PCD. Use Elta matching flanges and flexible connectors to join it to ductwork. Fit a local isolator, and protect the motor with a starter or controller that has overload protection; fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection. Do not use the isolator for day to day on and off control. Supplied star (Y) connected for a 400V three phase supply, wiring diagram 152-600. The installation manual shows it reconnected to delta when run from a single phase to three phase inverter. Not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. Inspect and clean the impeller, motor and guards at least every 12 months.
