SLC400 Revolution Long Cased Axial Fan Single Phase AC 400mm

The Elta SLC400/4-1AC is a 400mm Revolution long cased axial fan and the smallest single phase AC model in the Revolution SLC range. It moves up to 4234 m³/h at free air and 2837 m³/h against 100 Pa, from a 4 pole single phase AC motor running at 1435 rpm.The casing is heavy gauge steel, hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and suitable for external mounting, with a die cast aluminium aerofoil impeller. The motor is IP55 with sealed for life bearings, wired to an IP55 terminal box on the outside of the case. Speed control is by a 149-TC18 transformer controller. Elta give a 12 month warranty. 1 Phase AC Motor Up to 4234 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forLight duty general ventilation on a single phase supply where you want the toughness of a galvanised long cased fan: plant rooms, small workshops, garages, farm buildings and stores, wall mounted or on short duct runs. It moves 4234 m³/h at free air on just 0.209 kW and is quiet at 51 dB(A) at 3m.Its table stops at 100 Pa (2837 m³/h), so it is not for long ducted systems with filters, grease extract or attenuators. For more pressure on single phase, the EC version reaches 150 Pa.Why choose this over alternativesAgainst the Elta SLC400-1EC in the same 400mm size, this AC fan is the simpler, lower cost choice when you only need on/off or stepped control: the EC model moves 4241 m³/h at full speed with 0 to 10V control but draws up to 2.54 A against 0.94 A here.If the site has three phase, the Elta SLC400/4-3AC moves 4968 m³/h at free air, about 17% more. For a lighter, cheaper compact case at the same size, compare the Elta SCD400/4-1AC (2869 m³/h).Installation notes Mount at any angle, horizontally in a duct run or vertically, and make sure the fan is adequately supported: it weighs 34 kg. AV mounts and mounting feet are available from Elta. The flanges are 475mm outside diameter with 8 holes of 12mm on a 450mm PCD. Use Elta matching flanges and flexible connectors to join it to ductwork. Fit a local isolator, and protect the motor with a starter or controller that has overload protection; fuses and breakers only give short circuit protection. Do not use the isolator for day to day on and off control. Wire to diagram 152-502 for 220-240V single phase (remove the U1 to Z2 link when fitting the transformer controller). Check rotation and airflow direction at first start and that the running current does not exceed the nameplate. Not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres. Inspect and clean the impeller, motor and guards at least every 12 months.
