The Elta SH315-1LC is a 315mm Hideaway SH low profile acoustic box fan, built for ducted extract or supply where the ceiling void is too shallow for a standard box fan. It moves up to 2995 m³/h in free air, 2729 m³/h at 100 Pa and 1451 m³/h at 400 Pa, the highest pressure in Elta's published table for this size.A single phase EC motor (220-240V 50/60Hz) drives a jet design double mixed flow impeller at up to 3000 rpm, drawing 389 W at best efficiency (2.72 A peak). An integrated commissioning control sets a single speed or a maximum speed, and the fan also accepts a potentiometer, 0-10V or PWM signal. The 1.2mm galvanised steel casing has a Class O fire rated acoustic lining and a removable lid, the motor is IPX4 with sealed for life bearings, and Elta give a 12 month warranty. 1 Phase EC Motor Up to 2995 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forThe largest Hideaway, for supply or extract on 315mm duct serving open plan offices, libraries, hotel function rooms and larger residential blocks with shallow voids. At 100 Pa it moves 2729 m³/h, roughly 6 air changes an hour in a space of about 450 m³.Elta publish no figures above 400 Pa, so for very high resistance systems the Singleflow SSDL box fan, with a published curve to 500 Pa, is the safer choice. It is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres, and air must stay between -20°C and +60°C.Why choose this over alternativesThe Hideaway is the low profile option, and at this size it also out-performs the Elta SSDL315-1EC Singleflow box fan for the same 315mm duct at normal duct pressures: 2729 against 2135 m³/h at 100 Pa and 2441 against 1865 m³/h at 200 Pa. The SSDL's advantages are a published curve to 500 Pa and lower breakout noise (41 against 63 dB(A) at 3m), so it suits very high resistance systems or fans sited above quiet rooms.On a smaller duct the Elta SH250-1LC gives 1476 m³/h at 100 Pa. Its specific fan power is 0.46 W/(L/s) at 100 Pa, which helps with Part L compliance.Installation notes Mount it at any angle, adequately supported, and leave access to the removable lid for cleaning and maintenance. The circular spigots take 315mm duct directly; secure each joint with an Elta 018-315-CLAMP fast clamp, and check the airflow direction arrow before fixing. The fan comes with a 1m flying lead. Wire to Elta diagram 152-554 and fit a local means of isolation as the wiring regulations require. Speed is set on the built-in commissioning potentiometer. To use an external potentiometer or a 0-10V signal, remove the jumper link and connect to ST1; the commissioning setting then caps the maximum speed. Site the discharge so exhaust cannot be drawn back into a room through the open flue of a gas or fuel burning appliance, and inspect the fan at least every 12 months.
