The Elta SCP500/4-3AC is a 500mm Compact SCP plate mounted axial fan with a three phase 4 pole AC motor, moving up to 9500 m³/h in free air and working against static pressures up to 150 Pa. It is built for moving large volumes of air against low resistance through a wall, panel or bulkhead.The 380-415V induction motor runs at 1405 rpm with greased for life ball bearings, drawing 715 W and 1.35 A. The Series 1 impeller has adjustable pitch GRP aerofoil blades, the mild steel plate and motor are powder coated and the guards epoxy coated, an IP55 terminal box is fitted on 550mm of flexible conduit, and Elta give a 12 month warranty. 3 Phase AC Motor Up to 9500 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forThrough-wall extract or supply on three phase sites in factory units, workshops, warehouses, sports halls and large commercial kitchens where air is moved straight through a wall or bulkhead. At 9500 m³/h it gives about 6 air changes an hour in a space of roughly 1568 m³, for example 28m x 14m with a 4m ceiling.The datasheet shows airflow up to 150 Pa, so it handles a louvre shutter, cowl or very short duct, but it is not the fan for long ducted runs; use a cased axial or inline mixed flow fan there. When speed controlled Elta limit the air temperature to +50°C (+70°C at fixed speed), and it is not suitable for corrosive or explosive atmospheres.Why choose this over alternativesThe single phase Elta SCP500/4-1AC is the same size (6772 m³/h, up to 100 Pa, 411 W, 58 dB(A)), for sites without three phase. For built in speed control without an inverter, the Elta SCP500-1EC gives 7988 m³/h, up to 200 Pa, 639 W, 63 dB(A).Installation notes Mount the 655 x 655mm fan plate securely at any angle using the four 10mm holes on 615mm centres. Make sure the structure can carry its 20 kg and leave access for maintenance. Wire to Elta diagram 152-611 through the IP55 terminal box on 550mm of 20mm flexible conduit. The thermal cut-out must be wired into the starter control circuit. For variable speed Elta list the 149-TC33 five step transformer controller or an Eltadrive inverter (149-ODE3-14075-3KA1B 3 phase to 3 phase, or 149-ODE3-12075-1KB1B from a single phase supply). Fuses and circuit breakers only give short circuit protection, so Elta advise a starter with overload protection. Do not use the isolator for day to day on and off control, as it shortens motor life. At first start check rotation (swap any two supply phases to reverse it) and that the running current does not exceed the rating plate. Inspect and clean blades and guards at least every 12 months.
