Description

The Elta SB250-CON4-3 is a 250mm Biflow SB bifurcated conical axial fan. The motor sits in a tunnel outside the airstream, so the fan can move air at up to +200°C, or air carrying grease or dust, without that air passing over the motor. It moves up to 972 m³/h in free air, and Elta's published table for this model runs out at 75 Pa, where airflow has fallen to 144 m³/h.A 4 pole three phase AC motor (380-415V 50Hz) runs at 1370 rpm with a 120 W output and 0.48 A peak current. It is a foot mounted, totally enclosed IP55 motor with Class H insulation and sealed for life bearings. The adjustable pitch aerofoil impeller has pressure die cast aluminium blades, the steel casing is hot dip galvanised after fabrication and suitable for external mounting, and Elta give a 12 month warranty. 3 Phase AC Motor Up to 972 m³/h Speed Controllable What it is best used forHot or contaminated extract on 250mm duct where a standard axial would cook its motor: a small commercial kitchen canopy, a boiler house, a spray booth or a process area with a short duct run. At 50 Pa it moves 504 m³/h.It is not rated for explosive atmospheres, so it is the wrong fan for ATEX zones, and Elta's manual also excludes corrosive atmospheres, so talk to us before using it on aggressive fumes. Elta publish airflow only up to 75 Pa for this model, so keep the duct short and simple or step up to a two pole model. Why choose this over alternativesIn the 250mm size there is also the Elta SB250-CON4-1 (4 pole single phase conical, 1008 m³/h, 48 dB(A)) and the Elta SB250-CON2-3 (2 pole three phase conical, 2038 m³/h, 61 dB(A)). As a four pole fan at 1370 rpm this one is the quieter choice at 48 dB(A) at the inlet, best on short, low resistance runs.A bifurcated fan costs more than a standard cased axial because the motor has its own tunnel and Class H insulation. If the air is clean and below +70°C, a standard cased axial fan does the job for less money; choose the Biflow when heat, grease or dust would shorten a normal motor's life.Installation notes Mount it at any angle, adequately supported, with access for maintenance. Do not obstruct the motor tunnel, as the motor relies on ambient air through it for cooling. The case is 460mm long with 8 holes of 10mm on a 299mm PCD at each end, matching Elta 061B-0250 flanges. Use Elta's high temperature 063-0250-PU250 flexible connectors for hot air duties. Wire to Elta diagram 152-616. Fuses and breakers give short circuit protection only, so fit a starter with overload protection; for variable speed Elta show the fan run from an inverter. Fit a local means of isolation, check rotation and airflow direction at first start, and inspect and clean the impeller at least every 12 months. You'll also need Elta matching flanges 250mm (061B-0250, the flanges Elta list for the Biflow SB) Elta ancillary pack APK250SBCON/002 (flexible connections, matching flanges, anti-vibration mounts and mounting feet) available to order, ask us Elta bell mouth inlet 241B-0250 and impeller side guard 078C-0250-C available to order, ask us Browse more high temperature fans, commercial kitchen extract fans or Elta fans, or call us for help choosing the right fan.Specifications Model SB250-CON4-3 Type Bifurcated conical axial fan, motor out of airstream Diameter 250mm Max airflow 972 m³/h Static pressure 75 Pa Motor Three phase AC, 380-415V 50Hz, 4 pole, 1370 rpm, IP55, Class H Power 120 W output (0.48 A peak) Noise 48 dB(A) inlet at 3m Air temperature -20°C to +200°C in the airstream Warranty 1 Year Manufacturer Motor ambient -20°C to +54°C, up to 95% RH Impeller Adjustable pitch aerofoil, die cast aluminium blades Casing Steel, hot dip galvanised after fabrication Case 460mm long, 250mm internal diameter, 325mm flange diameter Flange fixings 8 holes 10mm on 299mm PCD Weight 23 kg Wiring diagram 152-616 ErP Exempt Manuals & Guides Elta Bifurcated Axial Fans Catalogue
