The Elta Multiflow SEL450/4-3PAC is a 450mm mixed flow inline duct fan with a three phase AC motor, moving up to 6991 m³/h in free air and 6275 m³/h against 200 Pa. A diagonal mixed flow impeller and 3D stator guide vanes give it high pressure from a compact circular casing.The 4 pole motor is a 230V three phase motor which Elta state may only be operated from a frequency converter; the published performance is at 70 Hz and 2000 rpm, absorbing 1.195 kW with a peak current of 4.4 A. Elta list this model as supplied complete with control, with electronic controller 149-FU1501 named in the datasheet. It keeps 6275 m³/h at 200 Pa and 4385 m³/h at 500 Pa, so it copes with heavy filtration and heat recovery.Its motor is a 230V three phase motor that Elta say may only be run from a frequency converter, so it must not be wired straight onto a 400V supply. Slide it into the duct and fix it with the integral mounting bracket, making sure the ductwork is not strained, and connect duct to both inlet and outlet so no moving parts are accessible. Elta's installation manual states this motor may only be operated with a frequency converter (max. 230V). Set the converter to the rated frequency and current in Elta's table, and wire to diagram 152-544. The thermal contact must be connected to an external tripping unit. The internal thermal protection does not cover a blocked impeller, so fit a motor protection switch with thermal and magnetic release, plus a means of isolation and an earth. Use fast clamps (018-450-CLAMP) or matching flanges (061B-0450) to connect to the duct, and run the airflow in the direction marked on the casing. Install indoors in a dry, condensation free space: Elta's installation manual says SEL fans must not be operated out of doors, and they are not for explosive atmospheres. Clean the impeller and casing at the recommended intervals; an upstream filter extends them.
